A room set was
set aside for the library in Lansdell Hall when the college
first opened in 1922. When Shott Hall was originally built,
one side of the dining hall was used as the library. It
remained in that area until the current library building was
completed in 1956. Easley Library was named in memory of Frank
Smoot Easley and David Milton Easley, both of whom served on
the Board of Trustees. A three-story west wing was constructed
in 1978. The three-story building consists of a main entrance
level, a mezzanine and second floor, and a basement or ground
level which houses the Education Department and Library
Technical Services.
Purpose
Statement

part of the educational program of Sri Nidamanuri Educational Society, the

educational goals of the college, as stated in the mission and
catalog of the college, by (1) acquiring and maintaining a
well-balanced, up-to-date collection of both print and
non-print materials, (2) providing physical facilities and
equipment that will ensure the most effective use of library
